Built in 1974, the iconic Toyota Building stood in Dubai when Sheikh Zayed Road was surrounded by open sand and only a handful of buildings.
For more than 50 years, it watched Dubai transform from a growing city into one of the world’s most recognisable skylines. It became more than a landmark, it became a memory, a reference point, and a symbol of how far the UAE has come.
From sand to skyscrapers, the Toyota Building witnessed it all. 🏙️✨
THE END OF AN ERA 💔🏗️
Dubai is constantly evolving, and after more than five decades, the Toyota Building is set to be demolished in 2027.
While many will be sad to see this iconic landmark disappear, the decision also reflects Dubai’s continued move toward newer, modern developments and changing safety and infrastructure needs.
The next chapter could bring a completely new development to the site, perhaps even a modern tribute to the landmark that stood here for generations.
The building may disappear, but its place in Dubai’s history will never be forgotten. 🇦🇪❤️
